GENERAL ART PROGRAMME

The GAP is a 2-year course that allows us to explore various art mediums and eventually culminated in a final year coursework and exhibition.

COURSEWORK

The NYGH GAP Coursework is conducted in Year 4, where we embark on a 8-9 months journey, from brainstorming to the final installation.

My coursework is titled "Search for Safe Haven". Here, I portray the search for our safe haven away from these expectations, the want to hide from the repercussions of not meeting up with standard.

In this artwork, I hope to allow the viewers a glimpse into an average student's thoughts, the hidden resentment for the excessive expectations of us to excels and perform remains unseen by the society, only when the light shine from within and we let our inner thoughts out, the struggles we face, the yearn to stop chasing and the desire to find the safe haven comes tumbling out.

30 Weeks Challenge

(Additional Assessment)

In this challenge, we were tasked to come up with an entry every single week, trying to stretch ourselves beyond the normal types of art. This has really allowed to explore more, keeping an open mind to creativity and trying out. Most importantly, in this task, I have really enjoyed myself.
